Who we are

Groomeroo is a UK directory that helps dog owners find mobile dog groomers near them. When we say "we" or "us" we mean Groomeroo, the operator of groomeroo.co.uk. For anything about this policy or your data, email us at info@groomeroo.co.uk. For data protection purposes, Groomeroo is the data controller for this website.

The information we handle

We have deliberately kept this to a minimum.

• Browsing the site: we use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool that does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device. It gives us aggregate numbers like which pages are popular, rough country, device type and where visits came from. None of it identifies you, and it cannot be used to follow you across other websites.
• Keeping the site running: our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP addresses for a short time to keep the service secure and working. This is normal for any website.
• Getting in touch: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message, so we can reply.
• Contacting a groomer: when you call, email or visit the website of a groomer listed here, you are dealing with them directly. That contact does not pass through us.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, postal addresses or payment details from people browsing the site.

Groomer listings

Profiles are built from business information that groomers have made publicly available. If you are a groomer and you would like your details updated or your listing removed, email info@groomeroo.co.uk and we will sort it out.

How we use information

• To run, maintain and improve the website.
• To understand which pages and areas are useful, so we can make the directory better.
• To reply to your enquiries.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we never sell or rent it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your data to anyone. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site:

• Vercel, which hosts the website and provides the cookieless analytics.
• Google, whose Sheets product we use as the behind-the-scenes store for our listing data. This holds business listing information, not data about you as a visitor.

These providers only handle data on our instructions.

Cookies

Keeping your information

Analytics data is aggregate and anonymous, and is kept by Vercel in line with their retention periods. If you email us, we keep your message for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry, then remove it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to:

• give you a copy of any personal data we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete it,
• restrict or object to how we use it,
• or provide it in a portable format.

Because we collect so little, in most cases we will hold nothing that identifies you. To make a request, email info@groomeroo.co.uk. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Groomeroo is a general directory aimed at dog owners and is not directed at children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
